To export data to IMX

For exporting data to IMX for use in AutoCAD Civil 3D see the important note below on exchanging model data with AutoCAD Civil 3D, with or without using IMX. For use of IMX with other applications, use the step by step instructions in this topic.

Note: Data exchange between AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfraWorks enables Civil 3D users to open all or part of a model from within Civil 3D. See About Exchanging Data with Civil 3D. Civil 3D users can also open IMX files containing model data. For exporting an IMX file for use in AutoCAD Civil 3D, see To export model data to IMX for use in Civil 3D.

Note: Due to schema changes, an IMX file that you export from Autodesk InfraWorks 360 cannot be imported into any release of AutoCAD Civil 3D prior to the 2015 release.

When you export to IMX, all visible data is exported. In the Model Explorer panel, make the desired layers visible.
