After you are satisfied with the layout of a drainage network, use Size Drainage Network to adjust the diameter and slope of pipes and adjust other underground structures, based on your changes to the initial layout. This tool is especially useful after moving an outfall.
Size Drainage Network comes in two versions:
This network does not have to be associated with a design road. If it is connected to a design road, will re-size the connected structures outside the geometry of the road belonging to the highlighted network, but not other networks further along the design road.
You can use , Highlight Drainage Network, to see the extent of the network.
The design road tool, Add Drainage Network, locates outfalls at the low points along the selected design road. It uses design rules based on full flow capacity and maintaining Minimum and Maximum Velocity conditions. It uses Mannings and Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) Rainfall coefficients. See About Analysis-driven Design. If you move an outfall to a more optimal location, you should then run Size Drainage Network to adjust the network accordingly.
