Custom Issue Entries

Custom attributes can be added to issue types or to subtypes for issue entries beyond the default attributes. Custom attributes appear at the bottom of an issue.

Before you create, assign or edit custom attributes, navigate to the following area:

  1. Click the Module Selector .
  2. Click the Services tab.
  3. Click Issues from the left panel.

Create Custom Attributes

  1. Click the Custom Attributes tab.

  2. Click Create new attribute.

  3. Enter a Title. The title appears in an issue as a field label.

  4. Click the Type drop-down menu and make a selection.

    • Text: Provides an area to enter text.
    • Dropdown: Creates a drop-down menu. This option requires adding options that appear in the drop-down menu.
    • Paragraph: Creates a field for more text than a word or two.
    • Numeric: Creates a space to enter a number such as, severity level.
  5. You can also:

    • Enter a description.
    • Check the Create another checkbox to create more attributes.
  6. Click Create.

Note: In the Custom Attributes tab, attributes can be edited or deleted from the More menu .

Assign Custom Attributes

For attributes to appear in issues, they need to be assigned to the issue types or subtypes in the Project Admin module. If an attribute is assigned to an issue type, all of the subtypes inherit the attribute as well. Attributes can be set to Required when they are assigned, forcing an entry before an issue can be created.

  1. Click the Types tab.

  2. Select an Issue Type or expand the type to select a subtype. Tip: You can apply an attribute to all issues by selecting All issue types.

  3. Click Add attribute.

  4. Click the checkboxes next to the attributes you want to add to the issue type or subtype selected.

  5. Click Add. Tip: You can also click the slider to require the attribute to be populated when working with the issue type or subtype.

  6. Click Save.

Note: In the Types tab, attributes can be edited, set as inactive, or set as active from the More menu .

Edit Custom Attributes

You can edit the title and description of any custom attribute. Type can't be changed.

  1. Click the Custom Attributes tab.
  2. Select the attribute and click the More menu to edit it.
