The Hypermodel

The hypermodel is a set of features that allow for easier navigation of complex 3D models.

Important:

The hypermodel is only available for newly published data.

Design Collaboration allows contextualized viewing and navigation between 2D sheets and 3D views in the hypermodel. The easy navigation allows you to understand designs easier and share designs with the extended team who may or may not be familiar with traditional navigation methods. The hypermodel doesn't require any additional model preparation.

Available hypermodel features in Design Collaboration include:

Place Me

Important: Place Me is only available for:

The Place Me feature allows you to quickly jump from a 2D sheet to a corresponding location in a 3D model associated with the default 3D view. The jump eliminates the need to continually navigate back and forth between sheets and the project model to evaluate the design. With Place Me, you simply select a location on a 2D sheet and use your cursor to orient your viewing angle. You are moved to that location and view in first person mode inside the Project Model. When finished, you can quickly go back to your previous view in the 2D sheet.

Locations

The locations feature allows you to identify locations in the project model with pre-defined camera views from Revit. The locations are indicated by a camera icon. Multiple views at the same location are displayed in a cluster which allows you to select the desired view.

Content Awareness

The content awareness feature prioritizes sheets and views in the browser that are relevant to:

The content in the browser is automatically prioritized to present you with the content most applicable to these three factors.

Mini-map

The mini-map feature provides a visual indication of your location and viewing angle within the scope of the model. This allows you to quickly identify your location in the project model, adjust the viewing angle, and jump to another location within the model.

Embedded sheets overlayed on the model provide additional context. When the camera enters an area within an embedded sheet, the camera zooms and rotates into the sheet so you can see it as if you were looking at an individual sheet.
