Change Visualization Interface

The Change visualization interface helps multi-firm teams efficiently understand design changes in 3D models. Project managers and design leads working on multi-firm projects no longer need to perform time-consuming manual procedures or use PDF markups to understand design changes.

The Change visualization interface provides an automated, visual approach, allowing teams to understand recent changes efficiently and respond as early as possible.

The Change visualization interface is composed of the following features:

1. Models & Versions drop-down list: Select the models you want to see changes for, and check which versions are being compared.

2. Views & Sheets drop-down list: Select which views and sheets you want to see changes for. The views and sheets listed are those from the models selected in the Models & Versions drop-down list.

3. View versions being compared: Click this link to open the Compare dialog and review and edit the models and versions being compared for changes.

4. Changes summary section: Provides a quick understanding of the number of changes between the selected versions. The Added, Removed, and Modified boxes act as toggles to hide or show the results on the All changes or Watched changes tabs:

5. Search box: Depending on the type of model you have open, search for changes by object name, ID, category, or family.

6. Filter button: Click to display filters that will help with quickly identifying and refining the changes displayed.

7. Flat Result List and Result as Tree buttons: Shows the changes in either a list view format, or in a tree format, reflecting the hierarchy of the model.

Note: You may have to apply additional search and filter criteria if there are too many results to display in either the Flat Result List or Result as Tree view.

8. All changes tab: Shows all recent changes between the selected model versions.

9. Watched changes tab: Shows changes to specific items or models that have been added to watch groups. See Work with Watch Groups for more information.

Note: The number of changes displayed on these tabs varies as filters and search criteria are applied.

10. Changes list: Displays a list of changes based on the applied search and filter criteria, and the selected tab.

You can view more detailed information about each change in the list, for example if there has been a change in the shape or size of an object.

To view change information:

  1. Click an item in the Changes list to open the change details in the right panel.

  2. At the bottom of the panel, use the buttons to toggle between the selected versions, and visualize the change in the model.

  3. Click the close icon to close the panel.
