Advanced filtering

You can see an enormous amount of information in Flow Production Tracking at any one time. To help you focus on just the information you need, you can use Flow Production Tracking’s filtering tools.

There are two tools for filtering in Flow Production Tracking:

The filter panel lets you drill into a page of results to get to just a subset.

Advanced filter conditions let you build more complex filters than the filter panel allows. You can use the filter conditions when making custom filters in the filter panel or changing the filter conditions on tabs.

Note:

If you can’t find a record, you may be looking at a page that has filters in place already, saved with the page.

Checking existing filters

If there are any filters on the page the Filter icon will appear blue.

Select the Filter button to see which, if any, filters are on a page.

For canvas pages, each widget on the page can have its own filter.

Below are the components of the filter conditions used to set Page Filters:

Advanced Page filtering

  1. Name of the Page filter.
  2. Type of entity. This will show you the types of records that will show up on this page that the filters will apply to.
  3. The Any and All selection. If you have more than one filter criteria, you can choose whether the two filters are treated as “any” or “all.”
    • For example, using “all,” each Task will be checked to see if it matches Filter A and Filter B. Using “any,” Tasks will be displayed if they match Filter A or Filter B.
    • You can filter within a filter group, as well as between filter groups.
  4. Checkboxes. These indicate if a filter is currently active.
    • You can use them to temporarily remove a filter without deleting it.
  5. Add and Remove buttons. You can use these to permanently add or delete filters.
  6. Filter Groups. Sometimes you’ll want to do something a little more complex.
    • Adding a new filter group allows you to build more sophisticated filters.
    • For example, you might want to look for an Asset that is any character (first filter group) and where the status is in progress or ready for review (second filter group).
Tip:

You can list multiple statuses in one filter. Flow Production Tracking automatically treats them as “this status, or this status, or this other status.”

Using these pieces, you can build complex filters and powerful pages.

You can also use filters to include sub-assets. To do this, create a condition for each number of levels you currently support for sub-assets. As an example, on the Shot detail page, in the Assets tab, create the following filters:

[match ANY of the following conditions:]
