Select Content for a Revit Installation

Specify content packs to include as part of the Content Libraries installation for your Revit software.

A Revit content pack is a collection of files specific to a language, region, and discipline. This content allows you to work on Revit projects, referencing appropriate standards for each geographical region.

Revit content varies depending on the software being installed. It may include the following:

The Content option is available as follows:

To see the Content option, click the arrow under Autodesk Revit Content Libraries.

Content Pack

The Content Pack list is organized by language and region. When you select a region, appropriate content files are installed with the software.

To see the default content packs that are included with the installation, scroll through the Content Pack list.

To add or remove content packs for the installation, select or clear the corresponding check boxes.

Note: If you are not connected to the Internet, you have access only to the Revit content that is included on the installation media. You can install more content later when you are connected to the Internet.

About the Base Content Pack

In addition to installing selected content packs, the Autodesk Revit Content installation includes a base content pack. The base content pack includes project templates and family templates. This content is required so that users can successfully launch the software and work with projects and families.

The base content pack resides on the installation media, and it is installed whether or not you are connected to the Internet. If you clear all Content Pack check boxes, the base content pack is still installed.

Default Content

If you select content for multiple regions, specify the content pack to use as the default when using the Revit software.

The specified content pack is used as the default when setting properties that affect Revit.ini, such as template and library locations. For example, if you install both Imperial and US Metric content, the Default Content option specifies the Revit default for Imperial or Metric settings.
