Print Setup Dialog

Use the Print Setup dialog to define settings used when printing views and sheets from the current model, or when creating PDF, PLT, or PRN files.

To open the Print Setup dialog, use one of the following methods:

Click File tab Print (Print Setup).
In the Print dialog, click Setup.

Setting	Description
Printer	The printer or print driver to use. To change this value, go to the Print dialog. See Print Views and Sheets.
Name	The predefined print settings to use as a starting point. See Work with Saved Print Settings.
Paper	Select the paper size and the paper source from the drop-down lists. Values vary depending on the selected printer.
Orientation	Select Portrait to orient the page vertically or Landscape to orient the page horizontally.
Paper Placement	Specify where the view prints on the sheet. If, for Offset from Corner, you select User Defined, enter X and Y offset values.
Hidden Line Views	Select an option to increase print performance for hidden line views in elevations, sections, and 3D views. See About Vector Processing and Raster Processing.
Zoom	Specify whether to fit the drawing to the size of the page or zoom to a percentage of the original size.
Appearance
Raster quality	This option controls the resolution of the raster data being sent to the print device. A higher quality results in a longer print time. This option applies only when raster processing is used. See About Vector Processing and Raster Processing.
Colors	Select an option: Black Lines: All text, non-white lines, pattern lines, and edges print in black. All raster images and solid patterns print in grayscale. This option ensures that a black and white printer properly processes colors in a project. Grayscale: All colors, text, images, and lines are printed in grayscale. Color: All colors in the project are maintained and printed, provided the printer supports colors. Note: If you select Grayscale or Black Lines, use a monochrome cartridge in the printer. If you use a color cartridge, only the black ink is used.
Options
View links in blue	View links print black by default, but you can choose to print them in blue.
Hide ref/work planes	Select this option if you do not want to print reference planes and work planes.
Hide unreferenced view tags	Select this option if you do not want to print view tags for section, elevation, and callout views that are not on sheets.
Region edges mask coincident lines	Select this option if you want the edges of masking regions and filled regions to cover lines with which they coincide. (This option is available only if the Vector Processing option is enabled.)
Hide scope boxes	Select this option if you do not want to print scope boxes.
Hide crop boundaries	Select this option if you do not want to print crop boundaries.
Replace halftone with thin lines	If views display some elements in halftone, select this option to replace the halftone drawings with thin lines.
