If you receive a customized version of the Revit.ini file to use with your installation of the software, you can implement it as follows.
- Install the
Revit software on the computer.
- If you have not yet started
Revit on the computer, do the following:
- Make a backup copy of the Revit.ini file that currently resides in the UserDataCache folder (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\<product and release>\UserDataCache).
- Copy the custom Revit.ini file to the UserDataCache folder.
- Start
Revit.
When you start the software, UserDataCache\Revit.ini is copied to your user profile folder.
- If you have already started
Revit on the computer, do the following:
- Exit
Revit.
- Copy the custom Revit.ini file to your user profile folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>).
- Start
Revit.
When you start the software, the version of Revit.ini that is stored in your user profile folder is used to define your
Revit settings.
