See information about your hardware setup, and change related options.

Option Description
Hardware Setup
Video Card, Driver Version, Status Provides information about your video card, driver, and certification status.

If your video card is not supported, a link provides access to a list of supported graphics hardware.

Note: Starting with Revit 2023.1, the certification status is replaced with reporting if the hardware you are currently using meets Revit system requirements.

A green checkmark placed after DirectX, Shader Model and Video Memory confirms that their versions meet the recommended values: .

Use hardware acceleration Provides the following performance improvements:
  • Faster display of large models upon refresh
  • Faster switching between windows of views

Note: This option is enabled only if your graphic card supports DirectX 11.
Draw visible elements only Generates and draws only the elements that are visible in each view (also called occlusion culling). Elements that are obscured by other elements are not drawn or rendered, thus improving performance. 3D views with many obscured elements will experience the greatest performance improvements.

This feature requires the following:

  • A graphics card that supports shader model 5.0 or higher.
  • Enable the option Use hardware acceleration.

After changing this setting, close and reopen views to see the effects of the change.
